It is respectfully recommended that

In order for the City of Miami to continue to protect the life,
safety and public welfare of its citizens, the proposed amendment
adding, increasing and clarifying fees is required. The cost of
properly enforcing the South Florida Building Code continue to
increase.
The Building and Zoning Department has reviewed its fee schedule
and determined that it has become necessary to bring the cost up
to the level of service that is being provided year after year.
It has also found that some fees are not properly defined and the
department is taking this opportunity to clarify them.
New fees are being added for services that are presently -being
provided. The fees are already part of the fee schedules for
other municipalities and need to be properly identified in our
fee schedule.
