City of Miami

Miami, FL 3 3131
Dear Mr. Stierheim
The Metro -Dade Community Action Agency Head Start Program will again celebrate Head Start
Awareness Month in October. A parade and festival will be held on October 19, 1996, as part of
this annual commemoration. Last year we had a wonderfal parade and festival in Coconut Grove!
The celebration would not have been a success without the cooperation and assistance provided
by the City of Miami.
As the Chairperson for the event, I am requesting to be included on the agenda for the October
10, 1996, City Commission Meeting and make a personal appearance to request in -kind services
related to the upcoming Parade/Festival.
From the Police Department, we are requesting four (4) police cars to appear in the parade and
the Police Honor Guard, in addition to security on the park grounds. In addition, from the City of
Miami Fire -Rescue Department we need waivers for the following services:
O Fire Inspector
+ Rescue Unit(s)
+ Firefighting Unit(s)
+ Administrative Fee
o Assembly Permit Fee
Please advise me at your earliest convenience regarding my request. Your prompt attention and
consideration to this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Sincerely, r
G
Sondra Wallace, Head Start Awareness Chairperson
