AT 6 P.M. FOR THE PURPOSES OF EITHER (1) NAMING AN
SECONDED: CAROLLO
INTERIM MAYOR TO FILL PRESENT VACANCY EXISTING IN
UNANIMOUS
MAYORAL SEAT (TO SERVE UNTIL EITHER THE NEXT
MUNICIPAL OR STATE GENERAL ELECTION, WHICHEVER
COMES FIRST), OR IF A MAJORITY OF THE COMMISSION
FAILS TO FILL SAID VACANCY WITHIN THE TEN DAYS
ENDING ON THE ABOVE CITED DATE, THEN (2) THE
COMMISSION SHALL CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION BY
ORDINANCE) FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MAYOR
FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI WHO SHALL SERVE FOR THE
UNEXPIRED TERM ENDING IN NOVEMBER 1997; SAID
ELECTION IS PROPOSED TO BE HELD ON JULY 25, 1996;
FURTHER PROPOSING TO SET JULY 15, 1996 AS THE DATE
TO QUALIFY/REGISTER AS CANDIDATE FOR SAID
ELECTION.

NOTE: AS DULY NOTED ON THE HEREIN AGENDA AND CITY CLERK'S
REPORT, WHICH CONSTITUTE A JOURNAL OF CITY COMMISSION
PROCEEDINGS, THE "UNANIMOUS" NOTATION NEXT TO THE VOTE ON
EACH AGENDA ITEM MEANS THAT ALL FOUR (MAYOR SEAT VACANT
DURING THIS MEETING) CITY COMMISSIONERS WERE PRESENT AND
VOTED "AYE" ON SAID ROLL CALL VOTE. NEGATIVE VOTES, PHYSICAL
ABSENCE OF A COMMISSIONER OR ABSTENTION FROM VOTING BY A
COMMISSIONER, IF ANY, IS ALSO DULY REFLECTED IN SAID VOTE.
