RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully requested that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution classifying
surplus office furniture from the City as category "A" surplus stock and donating the same to
eight non-profit, community agencies, as listed in the attached resolution.
BACKGROUND
The City purchased the Miami Riverside Center building and is in the process of consolidating
several offices in that building. In the process, the City vacated the City Administration Building
which housed the departments of Building & Zoning, Fire Rescue, Planning, and Public Works.
The furniture left behind by these departments, in accordance with provisions of Sec. 18-51.4.
of the City Code, was first offered other City departments, such as the NET offices, fire stations
and police stations. The remaining surplus was then offered to community agencies.
The attached resolution formalizes the donation of the surplus furniture to these community
agencies.
