RESOLUTION NO.

A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN
INDIVIDUAL AS A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GENERAL
EMPLOYEES' AND SANITATION EMPLOYEES'
RETIREMENT TRUST FOR TERM AS DESIGNATED
HEREIN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The appointment of the following individual
is hereby confirmed as a member of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees'
Retirement Trust Board of Directors, to serve a term expiring
November 30, 1999:
William J. Rabun American Federation of State,
County and Municipal Employees
("A.F.S.C.M.E.")
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

(RE) APPOINTMENT TO
THE CITY OF MIAMI G.E.S.E.
RETIREMENT TRUST
It is recommended that the City Commission confirm the re -appointment by A.F.S.C.M.E. bargaining unit of
Willaim J. Rabun as member of the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees'
Retirement Trust Board of Trustees as per attached Resolution.
BACKGROUND:
City of Miami Code Section 40-243 (A), (Ordinance No. 10002), provides for the appointment of a nine member
board of trustees to administer and manage the retirement plan known as the "City of Miami General Employees'
and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust." Of these nine members, one is to be selected by the City
Manager, two by the general employees (A.F.S.C.M.E. bargaining unit), and two by the sanitation employees
(C.I.G.U. bargaining unit). Four independent trustees are to be selected by the City Commission per
recommendation by the two bargaining units.
Mr. Charlie Cox, President of A.F.S.C.M.E., has submitted for confirmation the name of William J. Rabun for
reappointment to the Pension Board (see attached letter). The term of office would begin on December 1, 1997,
and expire on November 30, 1999.

227, the term of our appointee, William J. Rabun, expires
November 30, 1997.
It is our wish to reappoint Mr-'Rabun to serve on the Pension
Plan Board for another term. I would appreciate your
assistance in placing his name for re -appointment on the
Commission Agenda as soon as possible.
As always we appreciate your cooperation and concerns for our
Local and the employees of the City of Miami.
