FOEMAN AS CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, TO HOLD OFFICE AS PROVIDED FOR IN THE CITY CHARTER. WHEREAS, the City Charter provides that the City Commission shall elect and appoint a City Clerk to hold office until the first Commission Meeting following the next regular general municipal election, as provided for in the City Charter; and WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held on November 13, 1997, and it is now in order to elect the City Clerk for the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, Walter J. Foeman, has competently performed his duties as City Clerk in a capable and professional manner; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Walter J. Foeman is hereby elected and reappointed as City Clerk of the City of Miami, Florida, upon the same terms and conditions presently existing, to hold office until the first meeting following the next regular general municipal election, as provided for in the City Charter. The term of the City Manager is indefinite and, therefore, no resolution is required unless so directed by the Commission. However, it is necessary that the City Commission elect and appoint the City Clerk and the City Attorney to hold said Offices until the first meeting following the next regular general municipal election. Thus, in order to comply with City Charter provisions, I have prepared and attached for your consideration the required resolution electing and reappointing Walter J.
