RESOLUTION NO. 9 7- 8 07
A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $18,000 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND
ACCOUNTS, ACCOUNT NO. 921103, FOR PAYMENT OF
COMPENSATION TO SPECIAL COUNSEL, INCLUDING
ANY REQUIRED RELATED LITIGATION SERVICES, FOR
THE NUISANCE ABATEMENT BOARD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $18,000 is hereby
allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Account No. 921103,
for payment of compensation to Special Counsel, including any
required related litigation services, for the .Nuisance Abatement
Board.1/
Section 2. This Resolution
immediately upon its adoption.

ENCLOSURES:
The attached proposed Resolution has been prepared in order
to provide compensation, in the amount of $18,000.00, for special
counsel to the Nuisance Abatement Board for Fiscal Year '97-98.
Funds are available from Special Programs and Accounts, Account
No. 921103.
The use of special counsel to serve as the legal advisor to
the Nuisance Abatement Board is required because the City
Attorney prosecutes code violations before the Board. It is
impermissible for the City Attorney to serve as the legal advisor
to the Nuisance Abatement Board while prosecuting code violations
before the same.
