RESOLUTION NO. 6 7- 804
A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE ELECTION OF
CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE AS MEMBERS OF
THE CITYWIDE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY
BOARD FOR TERMS AS DESIGNATED HEREIN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The. Commission At -Large hereby confirms the
election of the following individuals to serve as members of the
Citywide Community Development Advisory Board, each member to
serve a term expiring May 5, 1998:
Dorothy -Quintana
Section 2. This
Allapattah
Coconut Grove
Downtown
Edison/Little River
Little Havana
Overtown
Wynwood
Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

The Citywide Community Development Advisory Board was created to advise the City
Commission on community development and housing needs. The board will be responsible for
providing a leadership role in encouraging target area -wide resident participation in the citywide
grant process as follows: (a) Promoting interest in grant activities in the target areas; (b)
Providing residents with an opportunity to discuss community concerns and related issues; (c)
Providing an opportunity for City residents to identify community needs; (d) Facilitating two-way
communication with government representatives and target area residents, and assisting the
City in communicating its program services and benefits to residents; (e) Recommending
priorities for community improvements; (f) Reviewing the progress of community improvement
activities; and (g) Conducting public meetings.
Eight confirmations are needed at this time because their terms expired on May 5, 1997:
There are eight target area representatives on this board which are elected from their various
neighborhoods. The Department of Community Development held neighborhood elections for
the selection of new members. The Commission at large is requested to confirm the
following seven individuals who were elected:
Frankie Shannon Rolle for Coconut Grove,
Balam Welcome for Overtown,
Sigfredo Delgado, Jr. for Little Havana,
Fred St. Amand for Edison Little River,
Eleanor Kluger for Downtown,
Dorothy Quintana for Wynwood, and
Iris Cuevas for Allapattah.
Wilhelmina Williams Ford was elected for Model City target area, but she has declined the
position. The last meeting this board has scheduled for the Community Development Block
Grant (CDBG) budget cycle is December 3, 1997.
For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership to said board. By
copy of this memorandum, we are requesting that the Agenda Office place this issue on the
November 25, 1997 Commission agenda.
