QUINCOSES WAY"; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT_ THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN DESIGNATED AGENCIES. WHEREAS, the Allapattah community would like to recognize the founder of Super Buffet Bakery, Carlos M. Quincoses, for enhancing the community with his enthusiasm and commitment to its residents; and WHEREAS, the Quincoses family is held in the highest esteem by all who know them for their dedication to providing a professional backdrop for the City of Miami and its residents; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 10761, adopted July 12, 1990, created the Miami Street Codesignation Committee and entrusted said committee with the responsibility of reviewing street codesignation requests and making recommendations to the City Commission in its determination as to whether or not a street should be codesignated, or a marker or plaza should be designated; and ;Crrr COMUSSION MEETING OF NOV 2 6 1991' Resoluttm No. 97-- 801 WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Commission's directive, the Miami Street Codesignation Review Committee, at its meeting of October 8, 1997, reviewed the Administration's proposal for a street codesignation for "Carlos M. Quincoses Way" and recommended the codesignation of N.W. 28th Street, from N.W. 22nd Avenue to N.W. 27th Avenue, Miami, Florida, as "Carlos M. Quincoses Way"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Miami City Commission hereby codesignates N.W. 28th Street, from N.W. 22nd Avenue to N.W. 27 Avenue, Miami, Florida, as "Carlos M. Quincoses Way." Section 3. The City Manager is hereby directed to instruct the Director of Public Works to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Police, Fire -Rescue, General Services Administration and Solid Waste Departments, Dade County Public Works Department, and the United States Postal Service. ENCLOSURES: Quincoses Way" The City of Miami Street Codesignation Committee recommends that the City of Miami Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the codesignation of NW 28TH Street from NW 22ND Avenue to NW 27m Avenue as "Carlos M. Quincoses Way". BACKGROUND After three years of hard work and dedication upon his arrival from Cuba in 1974, Mr. Quincoses opened his first bakery "Super Buffet Bakery" in Allapattah. Mr. Quincoses considered Allapattah his home and strove to pull together the diverse elements of the community by sponsoring different charities and children's organizations in an effort to repay society for the benefits he enjoyed. 97- 801
