HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-97-0742J-97-735 10/16/97 RESOLUTION NO. 9 7 4 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $6,500.00, FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, PROJECT NO. 690003, FOR THE PURCHASE OF TAPE RECORDERS, SUCH EXPENDITURE HAVING BEEN APPROVED BY THE CHIEF OF POLICE AS COMPLYING WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY'S "GUIDE TO EQUITABLE SHARING." WHEREAS, the Department of the Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing" authorizes the expenditure of shared cash or proceeds forfeited for law enforcement purposes; and WHEREAS, the Police Department will be purchasing tape recorders to be utilized in the taking of statements from victims and witnesses, and record suspect's confessions during criminal investigations; and WHEREAS, said acquisition is subject to compliance with all established procurement procedures and final approval by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, funds to cover said expenditure are available from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 690003, such expenditure having been certified by the Chief of Police as complying with the U.S. Department of Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: 'OTY COMUSSION MEETING OF 0 C T 2 3 1997 Resolution No. -97- 742 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of funds, in an amount not to exceed $6,500.00, from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 690003, is hereby authorized for the purchase of tape recorders, such expenditure having been approved by the Chief of Police as complying with the Department of Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing." Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
