The proposed event can be summarized as follows: A fundraising celebration which will include a disc jockey with an expected attendance of 2,000. This event is part of a week-long program known as White Party Week during which more 15,000 people from around the world come to our community in support of IIealth Crisis Network's programs and services thruughout Dade Cuuuty. To make this event possible, we are asking that the Commission of the Citv of Miami take the necessary action to waive the noise ordinance for the duration of the event. We understand that the October agenda is quite full, so we are requesting your assistance in placing this matter on the agenda for the October 14th winillissivu, 111=61g. HCN has already filed the special event permit application in accordance with City of Miami. We have also enthusiastic approval for this event from the management company of First Union Plaza. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation in processing our request for the October 14th agenda, as this event's success is critical in funding the expansive services provided by HCN. Please see attached letter from Mr. Marc Lichman, Chief Executive Officer for HCN dated September 19, 1997. Due to the location of First Union Plaza in Downtown Miami and the fact that there are no major concentrations of residential uses in the immediate vicinity which will be adversely affected by this request, the Administration is recommending that the attached request be granted. � - 701 5
