ENCLOSURES:
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City of Miami recognize and endorse the resolution of the
Florida Gold Coast Clean Cities Coalition applying to the United States Department
of Energy for designation as a member of the Clean Cities Program
BACKGROUND
The City of Miami is in the process of applying for a matching grant to obtain and
evaluate alternative fuel vehicles for our light fleet motor pool. As part of this
application, the State of Florida requires the attached resolution to show the
commitment of the City to the overall goals of the Clean Cities Program. If the City
is successful in obtaining the grant, we will pursue purchasing 6 or 7 electric cars to
evaluate over the next few years. Funding for the match is available in FY `97- `98
Capital Projects in the amount of approximately $100,000.00.
