RESOLUTION NO. 9 7— 566
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE INTERNATIONAL
TRADE BOARD TO DISBURSE FUNDS RECEIVED FROM
PRIVATE SECTOR DONATIONS FOR PAYMENT OF
EXPENDITURES RELATED TO THE HEMISPHERIC
HEALTH MINISTERS CONFERENCE SPONSORED BY SAID
BOARD IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $64,000.00;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE
BOARD TO ALLOCATE AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$7,000.00 FOR A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH MAGGIE LEYES, AS A MARKETING
CONSULTANT, FOR SAID EVENT.
WHEREAS, the International Trade Board is sponsoring the
Hemispheric Health Ministers Conference to be held in Miami,
Florida, on September 17-20, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the International Trade Board has received private
contributions and conference participation fees whichhave been
deposited in Checking Account No. 2090002469479 of First Union
Bank; and
WHEREAS, payment of conference expenditures are now due; and
WHEREAS, the International Trade Board previously approved
the execution of a professional services agreement for the hiring
of Maggie Leyes as a marketing consultant, for an amount not to
°exceed $4,500.00; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase said agreement by an
amount not to exceed $4,500.00, for a total of $7,000.00;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. The International Trade Board is hereby
authorized to disburse funds received from private sector
donations for payment of all expenditures related to the
Hemispheric Health Ministers Conference sponsored by said Board
in an amount not to exceed $64,000.00.
Section 3. The International Trade Board is hereby
authorized to allocate an amount not to exceed $7, 000 . 00, for a
Professional Services Agreement with Maggie Leyes, as a marketing
consultant, in an amount not to exceed $7,000.00 for said event.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
