RESOLUTION NO. 9 "7 - 550
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AGREEMENT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE
TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH LEGAL SERVICES OF GREATER
MIAMI, INC., FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR WITH THE OPTION
TO EXTEND FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIODS, IN
AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $15,000, TO PROVIDE
LEGAL SERVICES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE; ALLOCATING
FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
INTERVENTION GRANT, ACCOUNT CODE NO.
142012.290481.6. 270.
WHEREAS, the Miami Police Department responds to approximately 100,000 call per year
where there is a victim of a crime; and
WHEREAS, these victims, as well as the Police Department, would greatly benefit from
having the services of the Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF 'MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized' to execute a Professional Services
Agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, with Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc.,
for a period of one (1) year with the option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, in
an annual amount not to exceed $15,000, to provide legal services for the Department of Police,
with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Domestic Violence Intervention Grant, Account Code
No. 142012.290481.6.270.

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
