A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION, VALUED AT
$30,000.00, FROM FERRERO USA, INC., OF THREE
PLAYGROUND STRUCTURES FOR USE BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF.PARKS AND RECREATION AT BRYAN,
FERN ISLE, AND WILLIAMS PARKS; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO
THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR ACCEPTANCE OF SAID
DONATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami acknowledges Ferrero USA, Inc.,
manufacturer and distributor of quality confectionery products,
for its contribution and good will to the City's youth; and
WHEREAS, Bryan, Fern Isle and Williams Parks have been
identified by Ferrero USA, Inc. and the Department of Parks and
Recreation as being in need of new playground structures; and
WHEREAS, Ferrero USA, Inc. and the Department of Parks and
Recreation have held preliminary planning meetings to identify
the most appropriate playground equipment for each of the three
aforementioned parks;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA;
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
section.

Section 2. A donation, valued at $30,000, from Ferrero
USA, Inc.., of three playground structures for use by the

Department of Parks and Recreation at Bryan, Fern Isle, and
Williams Parks is hereby accepted.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized) to
execute any necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City
Attorney, for acceptance of said donation.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

Dear Mr. Marquez:
This letter is to advise you that our company, FERRERO USA, INC., has looked for and found an opportunity
to provide a much needed contribution to the City of Miami and its youngest citizens.
Our management has identified three City of Miami Playgrounds: Bryan Park, Fern Isle Park, and Williams
Park, located in the City of Miami NET AREAS, and wishes to donate three children's playground structures.
One playground structure will be donated to each park, for a total value of this contribution to the City of
Miami of $30,000.00.
We would like to respectfully request a personal appearance at your next available City Commission meeting
to announce the donation of three playground structures in the Coral Way Area - Bryan park. the West Little
Havana Area - Fern Isle Park, and the Overtown Area - Williams Park.
FERRERO USA, INC., is a manufacturer and distributor of quality confectionery products that are well known
in the U.S. These include Tic Tac and Rocher chocolates, which have widespread distribution in Miami,
Additionally, our "bread spread;' Nutella, the primary sponsor of the playground in Miami, is very popular in
your area.
We have had preliminary planning meetings with the City Parks and Recreation Director, Mr. Albert Ruder, in
order to identify the most appropriate playground equipment for the designated parks.
FERRERO USA, INC., with your approval and the approval of the Miami City Commission, will hold a series
of press conferences at each of the designated parks to announce the contributions and to encourage more
publWprivate partnerships of this nature.
We look forward to hearing from you regarding an available date and time to appear before the Miami City
Commission.

Ferrero USA, Inc. has requested an appearance before the City Commission to announce
a $30,000 donation to the City of Miami for three (3) playground structures. Playground
structures shall be IPEMA certified and in compliance with all applicable portions of the
current ASTM F-1487 Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specifications' for
Playground Equipment for Public Use. One playground structure to be placed in each of
the following parks: Bryan, Fern Isle and Williams.
BACKGROUND:
Ferrero USA, Inc., is a manufacturer and distributor of quality confectionery products
that are well known in the United States. These include Tic Tac and Rocher chocolates,
which have widespread distribution in Miami. Their Nutella "bread spread" product is
the primary sponsor of this contribution. Ferrero USA, Inc. has had preliminary planning
meetings with the City Parks and Recreation Director in order to identify the most
appropriate'playground equipment for the designated parks.
RECOMN ENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission accept this contribution in the amount
of $30,000.00 for this purpose.

Dear Mr. Foeman:
The Miami City Commission accepted the Ferrero U.S.A., Inc. $30,000.00 playground
equipment contribution today.
