A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF ROBERTO CLEMENTE
PARK ON JUNE 8, 1997, BETWEEN 5:00 PM AND 10:00 PM, FOR
THE PRESENTATION OF THE 1997 VIRAZON CAMPAIGN EVENT BY
CO-SPONSORS EAGLE BRANDS, INC./BUDWEISER AND THE
RAFAEL HERNANDEZ ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION,
A NOT -FOR -PROFIT ORGANIZATION, CONDITIONED UPON THE
ORGANIZERS: (1) PAYING FOR THE USE OF THE PARK PLUS ALL
OTHER NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY SERVICES AND APPLICABLE
FEES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT; (2) OBTAINING INSURANCE
TO PROTECT THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED BY THE
CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE; AND (3) COMPLYING WITH
ALL CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY
THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The use of Roberto Clemente Park on June 8, 1997, between 5:00 PM and
10:00 PM, for the presentation of the 1997 Virazon Campaign Event by co-sponsors Eagle Brand,
Inc./Budweiser and The Rafael Hernandez Economic Development Corporation, a not -for -profit
organization is hereby authorized, conditioned upon the organizers: (1) paying for the use of the
park plus all other necessary costs of city services and applicable fees associated with said event;
(2) obtaining insurance to protect the city in the amount as prescribed by the City Manager or his
designee; and (3) complying with all conditions and limitations as may be prescribed by the City
Manager or his designee.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.

Attached please find copy of a letter to Mr. Angel Diaz, Executive Director of Rafael
Hernandez Housing & Economic Development Corporation in reference to the 1997
Virazon Campaign, a musical dance contest scheduled to kick-off on June 1, 1997. This
event will consist of several activities that will take place at different locations, one of
them at Roberto Clemente Park. The proceeds of this event will go to Rafael Hernandez
Housing & Economic Development Corporation, a non-profit organization. Mr. Diaz is
now asking for permission to use the Park on Sunday, June 8th between 5:00 PM and
10:00 PM. There is no cost to the City involved since Budweiser will sponsor and absorb
full cost of this event.

Dear Mr. Diaz:
It's time again to start planning for our 1997 Virazon Campaign, scheduled to kick-off on June 1,
1997. Last year more than 100,000 people attended our events and raised over $15,000 for the
National Hispanic. Scholarship Fund.
This year we are ready and eager to kick-off our Virazon campaign. The event will feature 8 events
which will be taken to all Hispanic communities in the Dade County area. The event will not only
feature the Virazon dancers but will also showcase entertainment line-ups. We would like the
Winwood community to be part of our event and have Roberto Clemente Park as one of the event
locations on Sunday June 8th between 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
We invite the Winwood Community to experience the marketing power of the Virazon Campaign
by becoming a sponsor.
BUDWEYSER will provide the following:
• Logo to appear on all television advertising on WLTV channel 23 one week prior to the
event.
• Logo to be mendened on all radio advertising on Tropical 98.3 one wee�' rior to the event.
• Roberto Clemente Park will receive mentions at all On -Premise accounts visited that week
by the Virazon dance team, inviting consumers to join us at the mall for the mini -event.

• Winners of the mini -event will represent the Winwood community from Roberto Clemente
Park at the Final event on July 20th at Tamiami Park.
• Logo to appear on flyers distributed throughout Dade County advertising that weeks event.
• Ability to display banners at event site.
• Truck which converts into stage with built in sound system to showcase dance.

• Bud Girls and Dan4ers giving out Budweiser Virazon merchandise.
• . Security needed for area.
• Talent (to be determined).
• Truck and equipment for proper beer dispensing.
Estimated value of promotion for one week: $ 45,000
VdNWOOD COMMUNITY will provide the following:
• Roberto Clemente Park to hold event.
• Advertising in community newspaper posters.
• Obtaining a charity to sell beer (Net proceeds to benefit charity). Liquor license must be
obtained.
• Ability to display Budweiser inflatable.
• Help promote event throug4i;t the Puerto Rican Community fit,
You will have the option of vending concessions at park (Proceeds to benefit charity)

Beer pricing is as follows: $ 55.20 per ''/x BBL and $ 41.00 per case of 1000 cups.
Beer must be paid in cash at the end of the event.
