j A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AND CONFIRMING THE
APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE
AS MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AFFIRMATIVE
ACTION ADVISORY BOARD FOR TERMS AS DESIGNATED
HEREIN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following individuals are hereby
appointed as members of the City of Miami Affirmative Action
Advisory Board, each member to serve a term as designated herein,
or until the nominating commissioner leaves office, whichever
occurs first:

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the
appointment of seven (7) individuals and confirming the appointment of one (1) individual to serve on the
Affirmative Action Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND:
The Office of Equal Opportunity/Diversity Programs respectfully requests the appointment of seven (7)
individuals and the confirmation of one (1) individual to the Affirmative Action Advisory Board. At this
time, there are no Anglos represented on the Board, compared to approximately 10% of the Miami general
population.
Mayor Carollo, Commissioner Regalado and Commissioner Hernandez have two (2) appointments each.
Commissioner Plummer has one (1) appointment.
The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees requests the confirmation of Isabel
Kato.
These appointments are in accordance with Ordinance 11130, Section 2-428, Membership on Boards.
