HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-97-0178J-97-182 3/10/97 RESOLUTION NO. 9 717 8 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL THE FOLLOWING CITY -OWNED REAL PROPERTY: (1) A PARCEL OF LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 1975 NORTHWEST 12 AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA; (2) A PARCEL OF LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 1145 NORTHWEST 11 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA; (3) A PARCEL OF LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 900 SOUTHWEST 1 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA; (4) A PARCEL OF LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 970 SOUTHWEST 1 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA; (5) A PARCEL OF LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 2301 NORTHWEST 10 AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA; (6) A PARCEL OF LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 65 SOUTHWEST 1 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA; (7) A PARCEL OF LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 2200 WEST FLAGLER STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA; (8) A PARCEL OF LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 151 NORTHWEST 27 AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA; (9) A PARCEL OF LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 1390 NORTHWEST 7 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA; AND 10) A PARCEL OF LAND AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 650 CURTISS PARKWAY, MIAMI SPRINGS, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EMPLOY SUCH PROCEDURES AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE CITY CHARTER OR CODE FOR PURPOSES OF SOLICITING OFFERS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE ABOVE DESCRIBED PROPERTIES, TO TAKE ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY INCLUDING, IF REQUIRED BY LAW, THE ISSUANCE OF INVITATIONS TO BID, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND TO NEGOTIATE PURCHASE AND SALE AGREEMENTS AND TO PRESENT THE NEGOTIATED AGREEMENTS TO THE CITY COMMISSION FOR FINAL APPROVAL. WHEREAS, the City Commission has declared surplus the following City - owned properties located at approximately 1975 NW 12 Avenue, 1145 NW 11 Street, 900 SW 1 Street, 970 SW 1 Street, 2301 NW 10 Avenue, 65 SW 1 Street, 2200 West Flagler Street, 151 NW 27 Avenue and 1390 NW 7 Street, Miami, Florida, and 650 Curtiss Parkway, Miami Springs, Florida, commonly referred to as the Property Maintenance Facility, Municipal Justice Building, Manuel Artime Theater, Manuel Artime Community Center, Bobby Maduro Baseball Stadium, CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF MAR 2 n 1997 (� YrResolution No. 9l�y` 178 Watson Building, Police South Substation, Old Fire Station No. 14, Former Parks Administration Building, and Miami Springs Golf Course, respectively; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this section. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to sell the following City -owned real property: (1) a parcel of land and improvements located at 1975 Northwest 12 Avenue, Miami, Florida; (2) a parcel of land and improvements located at 1145 Northwest it Street, Miami, Florida; (3) a parcel of land and improvements located at 900 Southwest 1 Street, Miami, Florida; (4) a parcel of land and improvements located at 970 Southwest 1 Street, Miami, Florida; (5) a parcel of land and improvements located at 2301 Northwest 10 Avenue, Miami, Florida; (6) a parcel of land and improvements located at 65 Southwest 1 Street, Miami, Florida; (7) a parcel of land and improvements located at 2200 West Flagler Street, Miami, Florida; (8) a parcel of land and improvements located at 151 Northwest 27 Avenue, Miami, Florida; (9) a parcel of land and improvements located at 1390 Northwest 7 Street, Miami, Florida; and 10) a parcel of land and improvements located at 650 Curtiss Parkway, Miami Springs, Florida. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized/ to employ such procedures as may be required by the City Charter or Code for purposes of soliciting offers for the purchase of the above described properties, and to Id The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. b l - 178 take all actions necessary including, if required by law, the issuance of invitations to bid, in a form acceptable to the city attorney. Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate purchase and sale agreements and to present the negotiated agreements to the City Commission for final approval. Section 5. BACKGROUND The City Commission has directed the City Manager to sell City -owned real property as part of the financial recovery plan. The Department of Community Planning and Revitalization, Division of Asset Management will offer the following list of properties for sale in accordance with the requirements imposed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. Any negotiated agreements resulting from this process will be presented to the City Commission for final approval.
