RESOLUTION NO. 9 1 — 60.7.
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND
SINCEREST CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY COMMISSION ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND ITS CITIZENS TO THE
FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF CAPT. BOB LEWIS, UPON HIS
UNTIMELY DEATH.
WHEREAS, Capt. Bob Lewis, who recently passed away, was a graduate of Miami
High School and later served meritoriously on both the City of Miami and Miami Beach
Police Departments where he received numerous commendations; and
WHEREAS, upon leaving police work, he became a well known and expert
fisherman and was a successful charter boat captain for many years ; and
WHEREAS, Capt. Lewis devoted much of his time to conservation in the fishing
industry, and he was a founder of the Atlantic Gamefish Foundation, the Met Tournament
and a long-time member of the City of Miami Waterfront Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission, on behalf of the City of Miami
and its citizens, to express its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Capt. Bob
Lewis;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution
are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. On behalf of the citizens of the City of Miami, the City Commission
hereby conveys to the family and friends of Capt. Bob Lewis, its deepest and sincerest
condolences, upon his untimely death.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of January, 1997.

which was passed and adopted by the City of Miami Commission at
its meeting held on January 23, 1997.
On behalf of the citizens of the City of Miami and the City of

passing of Captain Bob Lewis.
