RESOLUTION NO. 9 7 _ 31
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS
TO SERVE AS MEMBERS OF THE CITYWIDE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY BOARD FOR TERMS AS
DESIGNATED HEREIN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following individuals are hereby
appointed as members of the Citywide Community Development
Advisory Board, each member to serve a term expiring May 5, 1997,
or until the nominating commissioner leaves office, whichever
occurs first:

Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

Citywide Community
Development Advisory Board

The Citywide Community Development Advisory Board was created to advise tine 'vity
Commission on community development and housing needs. The board will be'resp: sii,--:_ for
providing a leadership role in encouraging target area -wide resident participation io ii`t_ -: ywide
grant process as follows: (a) Promoting interest in grant activities in the tarp:.' a -4�E,_ (b)
Providing residents with an opportunity to discuss community concerns and relates ±Ssues; (c)
Providing an opportunity for City residents to identify community needs; (d) Facilitating two-way
communication with government representatives and target area residents, and at�_`.sting the
City in communicating its program services and benefits to residents; (e) Recommending
priorities for community improvements; (f) Reviewing the progress of community improvement
activities; and (g) Conducting public meetings.
Two (2) appointments are needed at this time:
• Mayor Carollo has one nomination to fill a vacancy.
• Commissioner Hernandez has one nomination. Said seat is presently held by former
Commissioner Richard P. Dunn, If, who had nominated himself as a member of the b _ °d
for a term which will expire on May 5, 1997.
For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership to said by
copy of this memorandum, we are requesting that the Agenda Office place this i :::::- the
December 12, 1996 Commission agenda.
