WHEREAS, the Fire -Rescue Department needs to purchase medical gases at a total proposed cost of $15,000.00 under existing Dade County contract No. 0643-2/98 from Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., Liquid Carbonic, and Florida Airgas d/b/a Southeast Air Gas; and WHEREAS, these medical gasses are a vital component in providing efficient patient care and will be used by the Miami Fire -Rescue in the treatment of the sick and injured; and i CITE' COiNDUSSION MEETING OF JAB( 1 6 1`1 Resolution NO. 97- 5 WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available from the Fire -Rescue FY' 96/97 Budget Account Code Numbers 105000-280502-6-704 ($3,675.00) and 001000-280601-6-670 ($1 1,325.00), for a total amount of $15,000.00; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Fire -Rescue recommend the purchase of the above gasses from the herein specified vendors; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The purchase of medical gases from Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Liquid Carbonic, and Florida Airgas d/b/a Southeast Air Gas under existing Dade County Contract No. 0643-2/98, at a total proposed amount of $15,000.00, for the Department of Fire -Rescue for one (1) year with the option to extend for one (1) additional year, is hereby authorized with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Fire -Rescue General Operating Budget FY' 96/97, Account Code No. 105000-280502-6-704 ($3,675.00) and 001000-280601-6-670 ($11,325.00), in the total amount of $15,000.00. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a purchase order for said acquisitions and thereafter to extend said contract for an additional one (1) year period at the same price, terms, and conditions, subject to the availability of funds.
