HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-11580J-97-879 12/9/97 ORDINANCE NO. 11580 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE II, SECTION 2-32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATION/CITY COMMISSION/TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING", TO CHANGE THE TIME FROM 9:00 A.M. TO 10:00 A.M. AT WHICH ALL REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE CITY COMMISSION SHALL CONVENE; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Chapter 2, Article II, Section 2-32, of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is hereby amended in the following particulars:1' "Chapter 2 ADMINISTRATION ARTICLE II. CITY COMMISSION 1' Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Underscored words and/or figures shall be added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material. 11580 • C� Sec. 2-32. Time and place of meeting. (b) Regular meetings of the city commission shall be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month except during the month of August and unless otherwise provided by city commission action. All regular meetings of the city commission shall convene promptly at 9:00 10,00 a.m. At the first meeting of the month, matters to be considered shall be generally limited to those matters not arising from or under the provisions of Ordinance Number 11000, as amended, the comprehensive zoning ordinance for the City of Miami. At the second monthly meeting, matters to be considered shall be generally limited to those matters arising from or under the provisions of Ordinance Number 11000. Further, all public hearings on land .use ordinances, including those involving ten (10) acres or more, may be held before 5:00 p.m. unless ,the City Commission, state law or administrative rule specifically provide otherwise. Nothing herein shall preclude consideration of any matter at any meeting whether or not such matter arises from or under the provisions of said Ordinance Number 11000. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected. Section 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure on the grounds of urgent public need for the preservation of peace, health, safety, and property of the City of Miami. Section. 5. The requirement of reading this Ordinance on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by an affirmative vote of not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission. 2 - 11580 Section 6.
