At the last Commission meeting, you handed us some letters furnished to you by Mrs.
Mary Helen McIntire, which requested information as to the status of her complaint about

the illegal unit and two electric meters at 1786 NW 16 St.
Attached is a copy of the latest letter sent to Mrs. McIntire by the Allapattah NET Service
Center, which is self explanatory.

As stated in our previous letters, responding to your complaint on the above mentioned
property, Inspector Krista Woods visited the property Iast Thursday April 10, 1997 and
found no violations, the back unit is kept for storage which is what it was built for.
The two (2) meters on the property, are in compliance with all codes, since property
owner is relocating one meter from the front unit to the new unit. Property owner will
provide (4) parking spaces for the two units as shown on plans.
Mrs. McIntire's contention that the new unit will converted to (2) units has no basis at
this time, due to the fact that the construction has not been completed and no final
inspection haws been done.
As stated in my letter of April 3 & April 26 of last year we are monitoring this property
periodically, as necessary.
If you have additional information, please don't hesitate to contact the Allapattah NET
Service Centex.

Dear Mrs. McIntire:
Your complaint was received on above mentioned property on July 17, 1995 of an illegal
construction.
It was in fact a valid complaint, there was a construction going on without permits,
customer was sent a notice of violation, he was also instructed that he needed to summit
plans to the Building & Zoning Department an pull permits for the construction, which he
did and they were approved.
In the meantime we received another complaint from you about persons living in a rear
unit, this was also check by my inspector and was found in violation, photos were taken
and necessary paper work was forwarded to Court Enforcement Board, being the fact
that it was an illegal unit, since it was stated in previous plans that his was a storage area.
I recommended that this permit be revoked, until property owner made corrections to the
property as advise by the Inspector, a sink and the kitchen area needed to be removed
and it should stay as storage area. Mr. Barriel was instructed to file File a Covenant from
Dade County Court. this was done and on March 4, 1996 and affidavit of compliance was
issued on this file, we will continue to monitor this property periodically.
As of today this property is in compliance with City Code. If you need additional

As the above referenced property was reporied as an iilegal unit, an inspection
was made which revealed that it had been corrected. Nevertheless, it is
imperative that the district field inspector continues to monitor this case until full
compliance is met and a// of the required inspections are performed.
In addition, I am requesting Eddie Borges, N.E.T. Administrator, (who was
previously involved in this investigation), to ensure that the Zoning (N.E.T.)
Inspector also monitors this construction to ensure that the. plans and permits
issued, correspond with what is being built. Also, the rear shed should be
demolished as indicated on the plan.
