To remove garbage and debris left on school property as a result of the hurricane. 2. To clean-up and restore, or fill in the reflective pool which also contains debris as well stagnant water and insects. { Although our institution received F.E.M.A. dollars, there was never enough to complete the total clean-up. Of course those funds have ceased to exist, and our needs have become more crucial. Many city based community organizations .md individual artists in residence include: The Coconut Grove Children's Theatre, Inc. (now in its 25th year), Momentum Dance Company, The Children's Cultural Coalition with some over 200 members, Bess Conservatory of Music, and others included in our proposal were displaced for one reason or another and now have been given usage and/or a home in facilities on La Salle High School property. The debris, garbage, and stagnate water have become health and safety concerns for the thousands of City of Miami children who attend performances and other outreach programs offered by these entities. Because of potential injury and illness these factors ultimately will become a deterrent for participation in not only these programs, but our general institutional operations with over 95% of our student population residing in our City. Initially, it was suggested to pursue our request with an historical reference. A request was made for S1291 000,00 which included other less pressing concerns. Today, we make an emergency appeal! Children are getting hurt, and there just isn't enough revenue to take on this mammoth task! We urgently, but respectfully need your assistance to bring this massive endeavor to fruition, so that our institution as well as our various community affiliations may remain viable and continue to serve the young of Miami. 1 Yours for youth, Sr. Maryann Schaefer, FMA Administrator i✓1;11 isi'`ark 4L
