RESOLUTION NO. — J
A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $18,000 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND
ACCOUNTS, ACCOUNT NO. 820101.250, FOR PAYMENT
OF COMPENSATION TO SPECIAL COUNSEL, INCLUDING
ANY REQUIRED RELATED LITIGATION SERVICES, FOR
THE NUISANCE ABATEMENT BOARD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section
1.
An amount not to
exceed
$18,000
is hereby
allocated
from
Special Programs
and
Accounts,
Account
No. 820101.250, for payment of compensation to Special Counsel,
including any required related litigation services, for the
Nuisance Abatement Board.11
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective

the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.

to Nuisance Abatement Board (J-98-1151)
The attached proposed Resolution has been prepared for your consideration to provide
compensation, in the amount of $18,000.00, for Special Counsel to the Nuisance Abatement
Board. The services of special counsel as legal advisor to the Nuisance Abatement Board are
required as the City Attorney cannot represent and prosecute code violations before the
Nuisance Abatement Board.
Funds for said compensation are available from Fiscal Year `98-99 budgeted funds of
Special Programs and Accounts, Account No. 820101.250. The compensation is payable as
earned during the period of such counsel's employment. Services provided by Special Counsel
shall include any related litigation services required by the Nuisance Abatement Board.

Attached is a copy of a resolution which is being placed on the City Commission Agenda for the
meeting of December 8, 1998. If approved, payment of compensation, in the amount of $18,000.00, for
Special Counsel to the Nuisance Abatement Board will be authorized.
Funds for said compensation are available from Fiscal Year `98-99 budgeted funds of Special
Programs and Accounts, Account No. 92Tr03=2?t The compensation is payable as earned during the
