HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-98-1139J-98-1185 11/17/98 RESOLUTION NO.y V— 1 1 3 9 A RESOLUTION, WITH CONDITIONS, RELATING TO TEMPORARY SPECIAL EVENTS, AUTHORIZING FOR A PERIOD OF TIME NOT TO EXCEED FOUR (4) CONSECUTIVE WEEKS, THE OPERATION OF A FLEA MARKET BY C.C.A.L. CORPORATION AS TEMPORARY SPECIAL EVENTS, AT 1480 NORTHWEST NORTH RIVER DRIVE, MIAMI, FLORIDA (MAHI SHRINE PROPERTY); SAID AUTHORIZATION CONTINGENT UPON THE ORGANIZER PROHIBITING THE SALE OR PREPARATION OF ANY FISH PRODUCT AT EACH EVENT. WHEREAS, C.C.A.L. Corporation ("C.C.A.L.") has operated a flea market at the Bobby Maduro Stadium grounds for approximately seventeen years; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami sold the Bobby Maduro Stadium property, and the flea market moved; and WHEREAS, the flea market is presently operating at the Mahi Shrine site, 1480 Northwest North River Drive, Miami, Florida; and WHEREAS, C.C.A.L. is approaching the maximum number of temporary special events allowed, without further authorization at its present location; and WHEREAS, the City Commission is authorized to increase the number of temporary special events allowed, per site, per year; CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF NOV 1 7 1998 Revolution No. 9 8_ 1 1 3 9 and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens in the area that the sale or preparation of any fish product be prohibited at each event; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. C.C.A.L. Corporation, the operator of a flea market, is hereby authorized, as set forth below, to operate the flea market at the Mahi Shrine property at 1480 Northwest North River Drive, Miami, Florida, as a Temporary Special Event site. Section 3. The herein approval represents an increase in the number of temporary special events authorized for the operation of a flea market at the subject site. Section 4. The herein authorization is limited to four (4) consecutive weeks subsequent to the effective date of this Resolution. Section 5. The herein authorization is contingent upon the organizer prohibiting the sale or preparation of any fish product at each event. Section 6. Further, the herein authorization is subject to the operator obtaining a Class I Special Permit for each event - 2 - 98--1139 and paying applicable fees. Section 7. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.1/ PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of November , 1998.
