A RESOLUTION, WITH ATTACHMENTS, OFFICIALLY
ACCEPTING THE ATTACHED MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
CANVASSING BOARD'S CERTIFICATION AND
DECLARATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 1998,
IN WHICH THE CHARTER AMENDMENT TO MODIFY
PROVISIONS REGARDING DISPOSITION OF
CITY -OWNED PROPERTY WAS DISAPPROVED BY THE
ELECTORATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby officially accepts
the attached Miami -Dade County Canvassing Board's Certification
and Declaration of the results of the Special Election held on
November 3, 1998, in which a charter amendment to modify
provision regarding disposition of City -owned property, was
disapproved by the electorate.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective

ENCLOSURES:
The City of Miami will hold a special municipal election on Tuesday, November 3, 1998, in
connection with Charter Amendment to modify provisions regarding disposition of City -owned
property. The results of said election will be provided to you shortly after November 4th
It will be in order for the City Commission to accept the Miami -Dade County's Canvassing
Board's Certification and Declaration of Results of said election. By copy of this memorandum to
the City Manager, we are requesting that this item be scheduled on the November 17, 1998
Commission meeting agenda.

County Commissioner IAVIER SOUTO, Member, and Supervisor of Elections DAVID C.
LEAHY, Member, constituting the Board of County Canvassers in and for said County and
appointed pursuant to Division of Elections Opinion DE95-05 and Section 102.141, Flodda
Statutes, do hereby certify that we met on the 3rd day of 'November, A•D., 1998, and proceeded
to publicly canvass the votes cast in the CITY OF MIAMI SPECIAL ELECTION hpld on the
3rd day of November, A.D., 1998, as shown by the returns on file in the office of the Supervisor
of Elections. We do hereby certify from said returns as follows:
CRART1ER AMENDMENT MODIFYING PROVISIONS
REGARDING DISPOSITION OF CTFY-OWNED PROPERTY
Shall the Charter of the City of Miami be an -tended to: (1) eliminate referendum approval before
the City sells or leases non -waterfront, City -owned property, appraised at five hundred thousand
dollars or less when fewer than three oilers are received, subject to competitive bidding; and (2)
exempt from the notice, far market value and referendum requirements, the sate or lease of
property acquired by Miami -Dade County for delingtient taxes and conveyed to the City?
The whole number of votes cast was _ 35, 437 _ , of which number:
