Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be residents of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the board is to consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a subcontractor, and a realtor. Pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 162(3)(b), all members serve three year terms. City Code Section 2-886 states in part: "...any board member shall be automatically removed if, in a given calendar year: (1) He or she is absent from three consecutive meetings... (c) The provisions of this section may be waived by a four -fifths vote of the members of the full city commission." • The Commission at large has one appointment for a vacant alternate seat, because Rose Pujol exceeded the number of allowed absences per Code Sec. 2-886, above, by missing three consecutive meetings in 1998. For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the October 27, 1998 Commission agenda. This issue was deferred during the July 14`h and September 28`h Commission meetings. WJF:sl c: George Wysong, Assistant City Attorney Maria J.
