RETIREMENT TRUST It is recommended that the City Commission confirm the re -appointment by A.F.S.C.M.E. bargaining unit of Rose Gordon as member of the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees as per attached Resolution. BACKGROUND: City of Miami Code Section 40-243 (A), (Ordinance No. 10002), provides for the appointment of a nine member board of trustees to administer and manage the retirement plan known as the "City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust." Of these nine members, one is to be selected by the City Manager, two by the general employees (A.F.S.C.M.E. bargaining unit), and two by the sanitation employees (C.I.G.U. bargaining unit). Four independent trustees are to be selected by the City Commission per recommendation by the two bargaining units. Mr. Charlie Cox, President of A.F.S.C.M.E., has submitted for confirmation the name of Rose Gordon for reappointment to the Pension Board (see attached letter). The term of office would begin on December 1, 1998, and expire on November 30, 2000.
