The firm has agreed to accept $50,000, in full payment of the amount due, which amount reflects a blended hourly rate of $150 per hour and includes expenses. From 1995 through 1997 said firm assisted the City in obtaining the waiver of a deed restriction from the State of Florida. Members of the firm met with State officials and prepared documents and supporting material in an effort to resolve numerous issues related to the request by the City to modify deed restrictions to allow the City to lease a portion of Watson Island to the Parrot Jungle for a botanical gardens. Commissioners appeared with members of the firm before the Cabinet and Governor. The services provided by Holland & Knight related to this issue concerned matters which were not covered in the agreement the firm had with the City for lobbying. I recommend payment of the reduced amount of $50.000. The attached proposed resolution authorizes the payment for the services rendered. Funds will be allocated from Legislative Liaison Funds Account, Account Code No. 920216-270. W224:MJC:BSS:CSK c: Donald H.
