BACKGROUND
The Miami Police Department is committed to the education and development of the youth of our
City. The Police Athletic League ("PAL") provides a well known and identifiable avenue to reach
them through programs, such as the boxing program and the soccer program, along with future
youth programs. The program will give the youth of our City an alternative to crime and drugs. It
will also help foster good attitudes towards the law enforcement community as police officers are
involved in positive interactions with them.
