HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-98-0880J-98-966 9/4/98 RESOLUTION NO. 98 880 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ALLOCATE AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $60,000 TO THE BAYFRONT PARK MANAGEMENT TRUST ("TRUST") FOR IN-HOUSE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A VALET PARKING AREA IN THE MILDRED AND CLAUDE PEPPER BAYFRONT PARK ("PARK"); ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, "BAYFRONT PARK IMPROVEMENTS", PROJECT NO. 331401. WHEREAS, the City of Miami appropriated $1,000,000 for capital improvement projects, pursuant to the Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 11623, as amended, at the Mildred and Claude Pepper Bayfront Park ("Park"); and WHEREAS, the Trust has entered into a Valet Parking Agreement with Bayfront Ventures, owner of the Casino Princesa, a gaming vessel to be moored at the north end dock in the Park; and WHEREAS, Bayfront Ventures has agreed to pay $180,000 to the Trust for this concession; and WHEREAS, the valet parking area needs to be completed for the grand opening of the Casino Princesa; and WHEREAS, the Trust's in-house staff is capable of doing this project in a cost efficient and timely manner; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the CITY COMMSION MEETING OF SEP 0 8 1998 R"Okum too. 98- 880 Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to allocate an amount not to exceed $60,000 to the Trust for in-house design and construction of a valet parking area in the Park, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Capital Improvement Program, "Bayfront Park Improvements", Project No. 331401. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayorll' PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of September , 1998. ATTEST: WALTER J.
