List of Members
The Miami Bayside Minority Foundation was established to (a) create and administer a loan
guaranty program for venture capital loans to minority business enterprises, (b) create a
vocational/educational scholarship fund for minorities, and (c) provide technical assistance to local
community development corporations engaged in economic development, such as the Miami -Dade
County Chamber of Commerce and Latin Chamber of Commerce, in the form of management,
legal, accounting, business development, such as counseling and training, and other related
services; to assist community development corporations in developing adequate support systems;
and the coordination and integration of resources toward economic development of minority
business enterprises.
One appointment is needed at this time due to a vacancy created when Rouse Company, the
developer of Bayside, appointed Maria Cristina Barrios as one of its representatives on the board.
Ms. Barrios had been appointed on April 10, 1986 by former Commissioner Rosario Kennedy as
one of the five City representatives on said board. The members of the Bayside Minority
Foundation were originally appointed in 1986. Each member of the City Commission nominated
one individual. The terms are indefinite.

copy of this memorandum, we are requesting that the Agenda Office place this issue on the
September 8, 1998 Commission agenda. This issue was previously deferred during the July 141h
