and authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell the property. This Resolution further

BACKGROUND:
On April 28, 1998 the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 98-429 authorizing the City
Manager to sell the City -owned real property with improvements located at 1401 North
Miami Avenue, Miami, Florida, commonly known as the Former Fire Station No. 2.
Subsequently, the Parks and Recreation Department has identified the adjacent parcel
located at 1441 North Miami Avenue as surplus. The Property represents a maintenance
cost to the City and does not generate ad valorem taxes. The Property is currently
assessed at $54,000.
In order to obtain the highest and best use of the Property and the best price, it is in the
best interest of the City to sell the Property simultaneously with the Former Fire Station 2.
Both of these properties will be sold at fair market value as required by Section 29-B of the
City Charter. It is in the best interest of the City to sell these properties, divest itself of
the liabilities associated with their ownership, and put them on the tax rolls. The sale of
the Property to a specific entity will require City Commission approval.
