REFERENCES: System Project with ton ld Warshaw Motorola, Inc. City Manager ENCLOSURES; RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission approve the' addition to the existing agreement with Motorola, Inc., for the procurement of additional zones for Phase II of the Fire Station Alerting System upgrade. Funds are available from the Department of Fire -Rescue's General Fund, Account Code 001000.280401.6.850. BACKGROUND: The Department of Fire -Rescue initiated a project with Motorola, Inc., pursuant to Resolution 97-587, for Phase II of the Fire Station Alerting System project. After further work and study of the system, it was determined that 1 additional zone would be needed at stations one, six, seven, and eight. The additional hardware and labor for these additional zones is not part of the original agreement with Motorola, Inc. The Department feels that these additional zones are necessary to make the dispatch system complete at these four stations. The fourth zone would function as a "Rescue" zone, and would greatly increase the functionality of the Fire Station Alerting System.
