A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF
FEES FOR LEGAL SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE
CITY OF MIAMI BY THE LAW FIRM OF DAVIS,
SCOTT, WEBER & EDWARDS ("DAVIS") IN
CONNECTION WITH THE LAWSUIT, RAINBOW
LIGHTING, INC., ET AL VS. LAWTON CHILES, AS
GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA, THE
FINANCIAL EMERGENCY OVERSIGHT BOARD AND THE
CITY OF MIAMI, ELEVENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT
COURT, CASE NO. 97-13487, WITH FEES FOR
SAID SERVICES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$15,737; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF
FEES TO MILLEDGE IDEN & HELD, IN AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $1,065, FOR SERVICES PROVIDED
IN THIS CASE PRECEDING THE ENGAGEMENT OF
DAVIS; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR, IN A
TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $17,802, FROM
THE SELF-INSURANCE AND INSURANCE TRUST
FUND, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 515001.424401.6.661.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The payment of fees for legal services
provided to the City of Miami by Davis, Scott, Weber & Edwards
("Davis") in connection with the lawsuit Rainbow Lighting, Inc,
et a1 vs. Lawton Chiles, as Governor of the State of Florida, The
Financial Emergency Oversight Board and the City of Miami,
Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court, Case No. 97-13487, is hereby
authorized, in an amount not to exceed $15,737, with funds
therefor hereby allocated from the Insurance and Self -Insurance

Trust Fund, Account No. 515001.424401.6.661, for said services.
Section 2. The payment of fees for legal services
provided to the City of Miami by Milledge Iden & Held, in an
amount not to exceed $1,065, in connection with this case
preceding the engagement of Davis, is hereby authorized, with
funds therefor hereby allocated from the Self -Insurance and
Insurance Trust Fund, Account Code No. 515001.424401.6.661, for
said services.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

The attached proposed Resolution seeks authorization for the
payment of fees for legal services provided to the City of Miami
by the law firm of Davis, Scott, Weber & Edwards ("Davis") to
serve as Counsel to the City of Miami in connection with the
lawsuit, Rainbow Lighting, Inc., et al. vs. Lawton Chiles, as
Governor of the State of Florida, the Financial Emergency
Oversight Board and the City of Miami, Eleventh Judicial Circuit
Court, Case No. 97-13487, with fees for said services in an
amount not to exceed $15,737.
Additionally, I am seeking approval for the payment of fees,
in an amount not to exceed $1,065, to Milledge Iden & Held for
services provided in this case preceding the engagement of Davis.
Funds for said services, in an amount not to exceed $17,737,
will be allocated from the Self -Insurance and Insurance Trust
Fund, Account Code No. 515001.424401.6.661.
