HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-98-0554J-98-588 5/22/98 RESOLUTION NO. 9 8- 5 5 4 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $148,902.00, FROM THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED "MIAMI-DARE COUNTY EMS GRANT AWARD (FY 197-198)", PROJECT NO. 104013, FOR PAYMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONAL COSTS OF THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES EMS GRANTS AWARD PROGRAM. WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 11658, adopted May 26, 1998, the City Commission established a Special Revenue Fund entitled "Dade County EMS Grant Award (FY 197-19811); and WHEREAS, it is now necessary to allocate funds for Project No. 104013, for payment of administrative and operational costs associated with the Miami -Dade County Emergency Medical Services EMS Grants Award Program, in an amount not to exceed $148,902.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of funds, in an amount not to exceed $148,902.00, is hereby authorized from the Special Revenue CITY colowsXON MEETING OF JUN U 9 IN8 Resolution No. 98- 554 Fund entitled "Miami -Dade County EMS Grant Award (FY 1 97-' 98") , Project No. 104013, for payment of administrative and operational costs of the Miami -Dade County Emergency Medical Services EMS Grants Award Program. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of June , 1998. Warshaw City Manager RECOMMENDATION CA-5 DATE : May 13, 1998 FILE : SUBJECT : REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: Resolution Allocating funds to the EMS Grant Special Revenue Fund, Miami -Dade County Award (FY'98) It is respectfully requested that a resolution be passed allocating funds in the amount of $148,902 from the New Special Revenue Fund entitled "Dade County EMS Grant Award (FY '98)," to pay for administrative and operational costs of the Miami -Dade County Emergency Services EMS Grants Award Program.. The monies received include a $129,902 Grant, apportioned by Miami Dade County, from the State of Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services under the "Florida Emergency Medical Services Grant Program for Counties" and $19,000 in carryover fund balances from previous EMS Grant Awards. BACKGROUND The Department of Fire Rescue has been awarded a grant under the State's "Florida Emergency Medical Services Grant Program for Counties", for the following work program activities: • Community First Responder Program - $58,000 • EMS Equipment - $10,000 • EMS Conferences and Seminars - $5,902 • Upgrade Station Alerting System - $75,000 JGP/CAG/JRM/pmk CoverEMSGrantsResol ution. doc 98- 554
