RESOLUTION NO. - 5 JL
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND
SINCEREST CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY COMMISSION ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND ITS CITIZENS TO THE
FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF CHARLES "BEBE" REBOZO UPON
HIS RECENT DEATH.
WHEREAS, Charles "Bebe" Rebozo, who recently passed away, was a long-time
Key Biscayne resident and entrepreneur who rose from modest beginnings to become a
self-made Florida millionaire; and
WHEREAS, beneath "Bebe's" quiet and patient demeanor was a man who instilled
confidence and who shared a lasting friendship with Richard M. Nixon, the 37th president
of the United States, that transcended triumph and disaster; and
WHEREAS, "Bebe" also possessed a sharp business acumen and in 1964 chartered
his Key Biscayne Bank, at first the only one on the Key, which prospered under his
personal home town touch; and
WHEREAS, in addition, he was active in the Key Biscayne Presbyterian Church and
the Kiwanis Club, and he will be especially remembered for his generous contributions to
the Boys Club; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission, on behalf of the City of Miami
and its citizens, to express its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the late
Charles "Bebe" Rebozo;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution
are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. On behalf of the citizens of the City of Miami, the City Commission
hereby conveys to the family and friends of Charles "Bebe" Rebozo its deepest sympathy
and sincerest condolences upon his recent death.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
