A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
GRANTING THE FOLLOWING BENEFITS TO THE INTERIM
CITY ATTORNEY, JOEL EDWARD MAXWELL, FOR SERVICES
PROVIDED AND RESTITUTION FOR OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS:
(A) RESTITUTION FOR TWO LOST VACATION TRIPS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $1,823.00 AND ALLOWING HIM TO KEEP TWO
NON-REFUNDABLE AIRLINE TICKETS WHICH ARE INCLUDED
IN HIS COSTS, AND (B) THREE MONTHS RETRO-ACTIVE
SALARY, IN AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO THE DIFFERENCE
BETWEEN HIS NORMAL SALARY AS DEPUTY CITY
ATTORNEY, AND THAT OF THE FORMER CITY ATTORNEY,
PLUS THREE MONTHS RETRO-ACTIVE AUTOMOBILE,
AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE, AND TELEPHONE ALLOWANCES;
SAID AMOUNTS TO BE PAID IMMEDIATELY AND IN A LUMP
SUM PAYMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Miami City Commission hereby grants the following benefits to
the Interim City Attorney, Joel Edward Maxwell, for services provided and restitution for
out-of-pocket costs: (A) restitution for lost vacation trips in the amount of $1,823.00, and
allowing him to keep two non-refundable airline tickets which are included in his costs, and
(B) three months retro-active additional salary, in an amount equal to the difference
between his normal salary as Deputy City Attorney and that of the former City Attorney,
plus three months retro-active automobile, automobile insurance, and telephone
allowances of the former City Attorney, said amounts to be paid immediately and in a lump
sum payment.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
