HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-98-0306J-98-332 3/17/98 RESOLUTION NO. 9 8- 306 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO REALLOCATE $160,000 OF AVAILABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) CONTINGENCY FUNDS FOR THE CODE ENFORCEMENT/NET PROGRAM, IN ORDER TO CARRY OUT ON -GOING CODE ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES IN LOW AND MODERATE INCOME TARGET AREAS INITIATED BY THE CITY'S NEIGHBORHOOD ENHANCEMENT TEAM (NET) DURING THE 1997-1998 PROGRAM YEAR. WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of providing assistance to low and moderate income community development target areas; and WHEREAS, the Department of Community Development has identified an available balance of $160,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Contingency funds which can be reallocated for the Code Enforcement/NET; and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the reallocation of the aforementioned CDBG Program funds to carry out on -going Code Enforcement activities; and WHEREAS, the proposed CDBG activities are important components of the City's development strategy plan to address the needs of the community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set fo CIlY COMIUSSION MEETING OF MAR 2 4 1998 Roohdim I. Section 2. Unexpended Community Development Block grant (CDBG) Contingency Funds in the amount of $160,000 are hereby allocated and recommended to the Code Enforcement/NET Program for the purpose of funding the completion of ongoing activities in the low and moderate income target areas during the 1997-1998 program year. This reallocation will cover an unanticipated increase in the number of Code Enforcement activities in the low and moderate income Community Development Target areas during the 1997-98 year.
