RESOLUTION NO. 9 8- 2 9 9
A RESOLUTION RELATED TO THE CUBAN MUNICIPALITIES
FAIR TO RE CONDUCTED BY THE CUBAN MUNICIPALITIES
FAIR CORPORATION ON APRIL 2-5, 1998, ON THE
GROUNDS OF THE FLAGLER DOG TRACK, AUTHORIZING
AND DECLARING: (1) THAT SAID FAIR SHALL NOT BE
CONSIDERED AS ONE OF THE TWO TEMPORARY SPECIAL
EVENTS PERMITTED PER SITE PER YEAR, PURSUANT TO
SECTION 906.9 OF ORDINANCE NO. 11000, THE ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, (2) AN EXEMPTION FROM THE TIME
RESTRICTIONS PERTAINING TO NOISE CONTAINED IN
SECTIONS 36-4 AND 36-5 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, CONDITIONING SAID
AUTHORIZATIONS HEREIN UPON THE ORGANIZERS PAYING
FOR ALL NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY SERVICES AND
APPLICABLE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT AND
OBTAINING INSURANCE TO PROTECT THE CITY IN THE
AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS
DESIGNEE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Cuban Municipalities Fair (the "Fair") to be conducted by the
Cuban Municipalities Fair Corporation on April 2-5, 1998, on tha nminds of the Flagler
Dog Track, is hereby authorized and shall not be counted as one of the two temporary
special events permitted per site, per year, pursuant to Section 906.9 of Ordinance
11000, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended.

Section 2. The City Commission hereby exempts the activities pertaining to the
Cuban Municipalities Fair, which may cause loud, unnecessary, or unusual noises, from the
time restrictions contained in Sections 36-4 and 36-5 of the Code of the City of Miami,
Florida, as amended for the hoer between 1 1:00 PM and Midnight on April 3 and 4, 1998.
Section 3. The herein approvals and authorizations are hereby conditioned upon
the organizers paying for all costs of City services and fees associated with said event and
obtaining insurance to protect the City in the amount as prescribed by the City Manager or
his designee.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.

Dear Mr. Garcia -Pedrosa
The Sixteenth Fair of the Cuban Municipalities in Exile has been scheduled to
take place from April 2rd to the 5th, 1998 on the premises of the parking lot adjacent to
the Flagler Dog Track N. W. 37 Avenue at 7th Street, Miami. In order to proceed with
the organization of the event we need your approval for the use of such premises, and that
this event not be counted as one of the two allocated events per site per year, as specified
in ordenance 9500 regarding these types of activities.
We hereby, are respecttfully requesting from such approval so that our event, now
on its fifteenth anniversary, may turn into another succesful "FERIA" as it has in the past.
The schedule for the Sixteenth National Fair is as follows:
Thursday
April 2
from 6 p.m. to 11 p. m.
Friday
April 3
from 6 p.m. to 12 p. m.
Saturday
April 4
from 2 p.m. to 12 midnight
Sunday
April 5
from 2 p.m. to 11 p. m.
In addition to the waiver , we are hereby requesting that the City Commision
waive all those fees that are waivable by City code in correction with the Cuban
Municipalities Fair to be help April 2 - 5. 1998 at the Flagler Dog Track.
