BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The appointment of the following individuals, appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and the Cabinet of the State, to serve as members of the Board of Directors of the Downtown Development Authority are hereby confirmed: L. Background Pursuant to Ordinance No. 11538, twelve (12) members shall be appointed by the current board of directors of the authority and submitted to the City Commission for confirmations. Ten (10) of the twelve (12) members were confirmed on February 10, 1998. The nominating committee presented to the board of directors of the authority two (2) nominees. Two confirmations for appointment are needed at this time. Ordinance 11538 provides that one member of the board may be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Miami - Dade County and one by the Cabinet of the State and submitted to the City Commission for confirmation. Miami -Dade County has reappointed Commissioner Jimmy Morales and the Cabinet has reappointed L. Grant "Jack" Peeples to the Board of Directors of the DDA. The City Commission is being requested to confirm said nominations. For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership of said board.
