HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-98-0229J-98-299 3/10/98 RESOLUTION NO. 9 8 229 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE POLICY THAT ALL PROCLAMATIONS ISSUED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI SHALL BE SIGNED BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMISSION; FURTHER PROVIDING THAT ANY MEMBER OF THE CITY COMMISSION SHALL ALSO SIGN SAID PROCLAMATIONS, IF THEY SO DESIRE. BOX 330708 MIAMI, FLORIDA 33233-0708 (305)250-5300 FAX (305) 854-4001 Pursuant to the authority vested in me under the provisions of Section 4(g)(5) of the Charter of Miami, Florida, I hereby veto: RESOLUTION 98-229 Veto Message: Due to the fact that the position of Mayor is no longer vacant, and to prevent any confusion that Resolution 98-229 might create in regards to ceremonial protocol, I have respectfully chosen to veto the above resolution. It is in contradiction of Section 4(g)(2) of the Charter of the City of Miami which states that, " He [the Mayor] shall be recognized as the official head of the city for all ceremonial purposes.
