BACKGROUND it is necessary to provide adequate fire protection service to the Boatyard at Dinner Key Marina. In order to provide fire protection, the water service must be improved by the installation of a 12-inch and 8-inch water main fire line extension and components along the north side of the Boatyard. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recommends enhanced fire protection for the City owned land and is providing the funding for the installation of the 12-inch and fl- inch water main fire line extension. Since Miami -Dade County owns the water system that serves Dinner Key Boatyard, it is necessary to enter into an agreement with Miami -Dade County designating and setting forth the terms and conditions for providing water service for fire protection to the City owned land on Dinner Key Boatyard. • gg- 120
