HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-98-0037J-98-97 1/13/98 RESOLUTION NO. 9 R A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND SINCEREST CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY COMMISSION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND ITS CITIZENS TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF JUDGE MILTON A. FRIEDMAN, UPON HIS UNTIMELY DEATH. WHEREAS, Judge Milton A. Friedman, who recently passed away, served a tenure as a judge for more than 41 years, serving as a associate judge on the Third District Court of Appeals, an associate justice of the Florida Supreme Court, and a judge of the Miami -Dade County Grand Jury; and WHEREAS, Judge Friedman presided over many landmark cases, including the integration of Miami's courts, as well as initiating Miami-Dade's first court -sponsored alcohol rehabilitation program; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission, on behalf of the City of Miami and its citizens, to express its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Judge Milton A. Friedman; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: JAN 1 3 1999 3 '- 37 Section 1. On behalf of the citizens of the City of Miami, the City Commission hereby conveys to the family and friends of Judge Milton A. Friedman, its deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences, upon his untimely death. Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
