This amendment recognizes the fact that a high density residential project (defined as a residential project with more than 100 units), whether it is in an R-3 or an R-4 zoning district, requires certain accessory convenience uses to be_ located on the premises. The proposed amendment further recognizes that a satellite banking office with or without an "Automated Teller Machine" (ATM) and a Travel Service use are types of accessory convenience uses that merit inclusion in the zoning ordinance. The legislation proposed herein specifies that the accessory services described above (and on the attached legislation) shall require a Class II Special Permit when they are to be located within residential projects. The Planning Department is recommending approval of the proposed- amendment finding . that the inclusion of accessory banking and travel service uses, as conditioned herein, would be beneficial to the city `as a whole by providing an opportunity for appropriate convenience establishments to be located in high density residential projects. • • 116 11629 RESOLUTION PAB -81-97 A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL TO AMEND ORDINANCE 11000, AS AMENDED, THE ZONING ORDINANCE, -OF THE .
