ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 11000, AS
AMENDED, THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA, BY AMENDING ARTICLE 6,
SECTION 602.10.1, TO MODIFY THE METHOD OF
PAYMENT FOR SUPPLEMENTARY PARKING WAIVERS OF
OFF-STREET PARKING FOR THE SD-2 "COCONUT
GROVE CENTRAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT";
CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Miami Planning Advisory Board, at its meeting
of November 12, 1997, Item No. 6, following an advertised
hearing, adopted Resolution No. PAB.72-97 by a vote of five to
zero (5-0), RECOMMENDING APPROVAL of amending Zoning Ordinance
No. 11000 as hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission after careful consideration of
this matter deems it advisable and in the best interest of the
general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to amend
Ordinance No. 11000 as hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Ordinance are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. Ordinance No. 11000, as amended, the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Miami, Florida, is hereby amended in the
following particulars:
"ARTICLE 6. SD SPECIAL DISTRICTS GENERAL PROVISIONS
Sec. 602. SD-2 Coconut Grove Central Commercial
District.
Sec. 602.10. Minimum required off-street parking.
602.10.1. Except as otherwise specified herein, the minimum
off-street parking requirements shall be as depicted in
the chart below. Said minimum parking requirements may
be satisfied by providing the parking, pursuant to
602.10.4, paying in lieu of providing the parking,
pursuant to 602-1G.12, or providing the parking on
site. No variances for the reduction of the number of
parking spaces is permitted.

Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar
as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of
this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph,
clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the
remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty
(30) days after final reading and adoption thereof.

RECOMMENDATION
BACKGROUND AND The proposed legislation is intended to simplify the
ANALYSIS administrative processes related to the Coconut Grove Parking
Improvement Trust Fund waiver system by making payment of
said waivers due monthly, for reduced amounts, as opposed to
quarterly.
It is expected that this method of monthly installments will be
more compatible with accounting systems in place for the
various trust fund accounts and increase the rate of timely
payments thus decreasing the need for enforcement action by
City staff.
