HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-11607J-98-107 1 /20/98 ORDINANCE NO 1160'7 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS ORDINANCE NO. 11337, AS AMENDED, ADOPTED JANUARY 25, 1996, THEREBY CONTINUING. AND REVISING PREVIOUSLY APPROVED SCHEDULED CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR FY '97-98; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the administration has designated certain projects proposed to be undertaken in Fiscal Year 1997-1998 with General Obligation Bond Funds, Revenue Bond Funds, Enterprise Funds, General Fund Revenues, and with some federal and state funds and private contributions, pursuant to Sections 30 and 34 of the City Charter, and has included them in this proposed amending Ordinance; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 11337, adopted January 25, 1996, the City Commission established appropriations for Capital Improvements, continued previously approved Capital Improvement Projects, and established new Capital Improvement Projects to begin during Fiscal Year 1997-98; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami has received additional funds from the State of Florida and the Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond for the continuation of various Capital Improvement Projects, 11607 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Section IV of Ordinance No. 11337, as amended, adopted January 25, 1996, is hereby amended in the following particulars:' "Section 1. The herein appropriations are hereby made for implementation of all municipal Capital Improvements of the City of Miami, including new Capital Improvement Projects scheduled to begin during fiscal year 1996-1997. The herein appropriations which are hereby designated by reference to descriptive project title and number also include appropriations for previously approved scheduled projects as well as reappropriations of prior fund appropriations. The source of revenues to support the herein appropriations with revenues therefore being set forth for seven program (I-VIII) areas based upon use or functional category within said areas, as follows: Total Appropriations ($x000) * * * * * * * * * * * * IV. This Ordinance shall become effective (30) days after final reading and adoption thereof. Project 4331385, and Baywood Park Shoreline Improvements Project #331405. BACKGROUND: The City of Miami has received additional funding for five (5) existing Parks and Recreation Department Capital Projects from the following sources: Metropolitan Dade County "Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond" Program, the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Metropolitan Dade County Department of Resources Management (DERM). It is therefore necessary to amend the existing Capital Improvement Ordinance in order to properly account for the new funding allocations and to proceed in the implementation of these projects.
