As a follow-up to yqm.previous request to be informed of the status of the aircraft noise
monitoring equipment license with Miami -Dade County, please' be advised that the item has
been scheduled for consideration by the County Commission at its meeting of December 15,
199 Ite�fm 6A1G. The meeting commences at 9:30 AM in the County Commission Chambers.

Noise Monitoring Equipment

The Office_ of Asset Management has been working with the Miami Dade County Aviatior
Department regarding execution of the Aircraft Noise Mont tooring Equipment License
Agreement with the County.
On Jujp 21, 1998 the City Commission passed Resolution No. 98-755 which authorized the
City Manager to execute the aforementioned Agreement. Said Agreement was forwarded tc
Miami Dade County Aviation_ Department on August 26, 1998 for execution by the County.
On November 13, 1998, Assistant County Attorney, Andrew Psalidas a4yised the Office of
Asset Management that a -Resolution authorizing this' Agreement is scheduled foi the
December 1, 1998 Board -of County Commisaioneis meeting. -
Please advise my office if your require additional information on this issue.

met on October 28,1999, approved a motion to recommend that the county implement a
Part 150 study for Miami Internationel Airport. I believe that the Board of County
Commissioners needs some time, to take action on the Pot 150 study, however I firmly
believe that we can move forward with the noise detection sy
stem. it is for this reason
that we need the county Manager'sassistance to dh staff to install these detectors as
soon as possible. I know of your commitmeaot to the quality of lifein all areas of U3=3i-
Dade County, thew noise detectors will help Miami to accomplish this.
