This letter is intended to call to your attention that it is apparent that the interests of the City of
Miami are being seriously compromised as a result of the actions of certain mortgage holders on
the above referenced property. As you may be aware the City of Miami is the holder of a second
mortgage on the complex behind a first mortgage to First Union National Bank, as Trustee.
Yesterday afternoon the bank declared in open court before Judge Philip Bloom that it intends to
wipe out the interest of the City, rather than attempt to allow Miami, Ltd., the existing owner to
sell the building to an interested party in order to attempt to protect the interest of all the parties
involved, including the city.
In that you have always acted strongly to protect the interest of the City and have advocated the
need for housing, I believe that the actions of the hanks in this matter should be of great concern
to you. I would beseech you to look- into this matter in order to protect the City Find its citizens.
Certainly the City working with Miami -Dade County and my client, Miami.. Ltd.., should be able
to achieve a solution in the best interest of all parties.
If I can be of any assistance to you, please contact me at your con
Very tyfilp yours,
A. Heckerling
